Live electric reading

Hi, Firstly apologies this is in English. I am struggling to navigate this in portuguese but hope someone can give my direction.
Im a home owner here in Portugal where I spend half the year. I want to able to access live Electtricity data and daily cost. Is there a way of accessing this through Home Assistant like an add on for E-Redes or do I need a smart meter. I have read on here about getting a RS485 connection via HAN using an Elfin. Whilst I assume this is something I could do it seems a rather difficult process, especially as my existing meter is outside the house not near a power connector. Any advice appreciated.

can you use the same conduit that bring electricity to pass a cable with the RS485 to inside de house? this cable was to be shielded off course and maybe is not legal by the book (dont know for sure).
how many meteres do you have between the counter and your mainboard?
you can use a shelly EM and install on the mainboard, should be more simple.

to use the e-redes power counter to communicate(with the elfin) you need to pay a one time fee so they can open the communication port(HAN).
